Fight Back

This is a lot you can do to fight against these new regulations. Do as much as you can; doing anything to resist this attack is better than doing nothing!

What you can do:
  • Educate yourself. Educate others.
  • Sign the Petition to protect access to safe, legal abortion in Virginia!
  • Send a message to the Board of Health telling them that these regulations must be based upon evidence-based medical practices that advance the public health!
  • Contact the governor and the Board of Health. Write to your local newspaper. Attend the demonstrations on the 14th and 15th, or start one in your town!
  • Attend the Speak Out sponsored by the Virginia Coalition to Protect Women's Health on Wednesday, September 14th!
  • March from the Speak Out to protest at City Hall on September 14th at 1:30pm!
  • Go to the VA Board of Health meeting on September 15th! A public comment period will be available; come to speak and support women's rights!
Members of the public wishing to submit written comments concerning the draft emergency regulations to the Board prior to the September 15 meeting may submit them via email to commissioner.remley@vdh.virginia.gov; via U.S. mail to Post Office Box 2448, Richmond, Virginia 23218; or by fax to (804) 864-7022.
Members of the public wishing to provide verbal comments to the Board of Health during the meeting will be given the opportunity to do so during the public comment portion of the meeting.  The public comment period will be conducted pursuant to the provisions of the Board’s Public Participation policy.
  • In the case that these regulations pass, educate yourself about safe alternatives to medical abortions.
